Hiccups...

Hiccups are the bane of Olivia's existence.

She hates them. She has hated them since well before birth and now that she can vocalize her distaste, she lets us know!

Grand Nana

Olivia met her Grand Nana for the first time last week.

It was love at first sight. :)

A big thanks to Olivia's Nana!

My mom stayed with us the first night we came home from the hospital and then she came back for several days when Russ had to go back to work last Tuesday.

She helped me so much!

She helped with nursing, getting Olivia back to sleep between nighttime feedings, making sure we didn't run out of milk and so much more. :)

Mom - Your the best and I appreciate you so very much. Thank you!

Happy 2nd Anniversary

Russ and I've been married for 2 years today!

We've been together for so many of life's milestones:

the end of high school

college

moving away (9 1/2 hours away to be exact) and moving back (kinda - now, it's less then 2 hours from our parents ).

and the birth of our beautiful daughter

Russ and I are both so excited for what our future holds!

We don't have any special plans for tonight and we're fine with that - we'll make an easy/semi-healthy dinner and then hold our baby all night long. :)

Sending a big thanks out to....

Since I'm now officially done with pregnancy, I'd like to send a big thank you out to all the things that have made me a much more pleasant person:

fruit popsicles

Smoothies made by my husband - he made me one everyday for the last two months we were in Los Alamos, so that I could take it to work everyday.

Netflix, especially, Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother

All the blogs out there that have allowed neurotic me to do a ton of research about baby gear, labor, inexpensive maternity clothes, nursery decor, etc.

My mom - we talked on the phone almost every day and she would always give me great advice.

Gaviscon - I had terrible acid reflux for the last several months of pregnancy.

My Liz Lange maternity jean shorts from Target that I cuffed myself - they made summer so much more bearable and a lot easier to dress comfortably for.

My new OB here in Tulsa - I only saw her three times and then I saw her during business hours the day I was in labor but she was always so supportive of me and Olivia.  She wanted what was best for us and what would keep us healthy and happy.

Olivia's first day

Russ and I went into the Special Care nursery first thing Friday morning and we were told that we had to wait for the pediatrician to arrive before she could leave there.  Fortunately for us, an extremely observant nurse saw our faces longing to hold our daughter and came over to take the oxygen hood off of her and swaddle her up to be held.  Most precious moment of my life.

Shortly after that, Olivia was cleared to leave and we were also told that she was super strong and has amazing infant muscle tone... For real, this kid can raise her head up for super extended time periods already. Yay!!!!

Now our day really began and all of our family got to come and see/hold our girl.

Daddy has the right touch.

He has suggested that he be called OP (Olivia's Papa) but I think that sounds like a bad rapper name, lol.
