Ninjabread Boys!

I made my mom's gingerbread boy cookie recipe over the weekend (which she received from a nun, so they're holy cookies) and it was definitely an undertaking but so worth it!

Getting out the ingredients. Hoping I hadn't forgotten anything because I didn't want to leave the house again that night.

The Ninjas ready to go into the oven.

ALL DONE! These ones are kinda lumpy but I promise they still taste delicious.

Now these are not the ingredients or instructions I used for my cookies, but they're what came with the cookie cutters and they are hilarious. :) Please read and enjoy!

Los Alamos in a Cloud

Los Alamos was covered in a dense fog this last weekend and because of the altitude it looks like we were a part of a cloud.

Livin' the Good Life

Cuddling with the puppy.

Playing the X-Men video game.

Staring into the creepy Pirate eyes... :)

Christmastime is Here!

Here are a few pictures I've taken of our house decorated for Christmas:

Here's my Willow Tree Nativity that my parents gave me last year.

The Christmas tree with my dog in the way. :)

Our little Christmas tree, which is just the right size for our little house.

Our stockings (humans and animals) and the nativity calendar that I've had since childhood.  All of this is displayed on my favorite wood wall... :) Maybe I'll get it covered with curtains or a tapestry at some point in time.

Snow, Snow, SNOW

Thursday it began snowing midday and just kept on showing throughout the night.

Russ' work was canceled but mine wasn't.... he was nice enough to get up, clear off the car and then drive me to work. :)

Roxy and Pirate liked running after snowballs when Russ threw them.

Roxy wasn't sure what to do about the cold stuff stuck to her nose. Silly dog.

Work Out Room

Russ cleaned up his work out room today and I wanted to share the pictures because it is a great room. :)

Here's his bike on the trainer with my beach cruiser in the background.

Two more of his bikes and some jerseys.

My elliptical machine. :)

And Russ has many of his race numbers and swim caps on the wall.

This room is, by far, the best decorated and put together room in our house and it was all done by Russ.

I'm a very bad blogger. Lo siento, friends.

Here are some pictures of my pups from when we went to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving.

Here's Roxy  on the drive to my Nana's house in Cherokee. She's a fantastic car rider. :)

Here's Pirate and Roxy investigating Nana's. They loved it!

Taking a nap with Russ. (The Macy's Parade made them all very sleepy.)

Roxy resting with Becca in the back of the car.

Russ' Blog

Russ has just started writing a blog about cycling.  You should all check it out, there's so many new things we can all learn from it. :)

Funny Doggy

Roxy is such a goofy dog. She has no idea that most of the time when we're laughing it's becuase of her.

Frequently, she likes to cuddle underneath the blanket and sometimes it makes her look like a babushka.

And sometimes, she likes to sit like she's a human.... Hilarious and weird at the same time.

More Cyclocross

Russ did a cyclocross race in Albuquerque this past Sunday morning.

The course had been designed by the high-school aged racers and it had tons of tight turns and places that the riders had to dismount because of sand.

They also had to run up two different sets of stairs.  Russ always did really well here because he could take the stairs two at a time and he's strong enough to easily carry his bike on his shoulder.

You can't quite see his number here but I thought it was ironic that it was 405. Can't ever forget where we came from.  :)

Hallelujah Chorus Flash Mob

The PC North choir kid in me totally geeked out when I first watched this video. :)

SNOW!

Last night, a light snow began to fall as I was watching "Dancing with the Stars" (love that show).

And it stuck around until this morning. :)

Of course, that meant I had to de-snow my car before leaving but that wasn't too hard and there were no road problems on my drive to work.

I think I could deal with an entire winter of snow, especially, if it was just like this!

The Birds!

Los Alamos has the biggest ravens I have ever seen!

When Russ and I first saw them last May, we thought that it must be something about the Atomic City that has made them mutants.... If they get too close, it can be totally creepy.

Halloweekend!

Last weekend was full of Halloween. Friday night, I helped with Trick or Treat on Mainstreet.

There were tons of people there; the rough estimate is 3,000.

This is one of my co-workers. With a lot of hairspray and a fake mustache, she looked almost exactly like Einstein!

There was a Weiner dog parade, which made me miss Dolly and Cinnamon, my parents' two dauchsund/part dauchsund doggies.

(The one dressed up like an ice cream sundae is named Roxy and her owner is one of my friends!)

There is a band called the Hillstompers here in Los Alamos. They are a bunch of musically talented adults with a flair for the silly. :) They don't just dress up for Halloween; they dress up for the 4th of July, the county fair , etc. and they always pump up the crowd. :)

The next night, Russ and I helped set up a haunted trail next to a pumpkin glow. I didn't take any pictures of our decorations except for the creepy hanging body that toally gave me the heebie-jeebies... It just looks so real.

We take Halloween very seriously around here!

These are all decorations that can be seen around my office and there are even morearound because we're hosting the Trick or Treat on Mainstreet today! :)

And, remember Mater from earlier in the week?

Well, he's started to deform.... Bummer!
