Please ignore the crazy hair sticking out on the side of my head. :)

Cute Prego Cards!

I received the cutest card from my Aunt Marty at the end of last week. It makes me giggle...

And my mom gave me this one just days after we announced our pregnancy. :)

Love them both!

17 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 17 Weeks yesterday

Baby size: Weighs as much as a turnip, 5 oz approx.

Maternity Clothes: Maternity jeans and normal pants with the belly band. :)

Gender: We won't know until mid-February

Movement: This is definitely Russ' child - very fidgety.

Cravings: Whole grain frozen waffles with jam and popsicles.

Symptoms: Evening nap most days and acid reflux.

What a wonderful weekend!

We had the most wonderful, relaxing, nothing-going-on weekend!

We made/ate pancakes. I mixed up the batter and Russ manned the stove.

We went to see the "Green Hornet." Russ and I really liked it; thought it was pretty entertaining and funny. Baby B must have known the Kato was kicking butt on the screen bc I received a pretty active womb-kickin'. :)

We took a rather chilly walk around our neighborhood. All I can say is that it's good that Los ALamos doesn't have the wind chill that OKC has bc it would have been rough.

We watched "Home Alone 2" on the Netflix Instant Watch. There were so many jokes in that movie that I totally didn't get as a kid and it added a whole new dimension. (p.s. I love Netflix! We actually cancelled our cable bc we can watch so much through Netflix on the PS3 and the rest through Hulu.)

And I spent a lot of time on the phone with my mom talking about baby gear. She totally gets that I'm uber-thrifty and we don't want massive quantities of baby gear to take-over our small home before the baby is even born. :) Thanks, Mom!

What do a rubber ducky and a gerbil have in common...?

What do a rubber ducky and small gerbil have in common? They were both the answers given to me by different pregnancy Websites about how big Baby B is at 16 weeks. I think this is totally hilarious. :)

Most often the size descriptions are fruit and veggies but, clearly, some Websites want to be creative. This week, the baby is either a bathtub toy or a small rodent....

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Because my husband didn't have to work today and I do, I'm making him do some light house cleaning. Bahahaha. :) Just kidding. He's wonderful and already does all types of different housework.

In honor of MLK day, here are some wonderful quotes:

Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.

History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.

I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.

have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.

16 weeks

 Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 16 Weeks
Baby size: Avocado... which is actually a food I don't eat, haha.
Maternity Clothes: I just bought my first pair of maternity jeans but they're still a little big, so for the most part it's my normal pants with the belly band. :)

Gender: We won't know until mid-February

Movement: A little but only when I'm sitting really still.

Cravings: Nothing very exciting, mostly bread and chicken wraps.

Symptoms: Taking an evening nap most days and some acid reflux.

Napping with my Roxy. :)

I got new Pants...

Maternity pants, that is.

Up until now, I had been trying to make due with my normal pants and a rubberband. :) By the end of last week, I just didn't feel like that was working anymore and I knew I had to bite the maternity-clothes-bullet.

Liz Lange for Target

We went to Target and I found these jeans. They still feel a little bit loose but, hopefully, Baby B will begin to show more and then my pants will fit. :)

Christmas Trip to Iowa.

We went to Iowa over the Christmas break (You have to sing "Iowa" like they do in "Music Man" :) to see lots of Russ' family. It was soooo much fun, too bad we live so far apart and can't all be together more often.

Russ was in love with his little cousin's bed.

We all went to a nearby hill to sled. Clearly, I didn't do any actual sledding, but I did have a great time watching everyone from the back of the car.

It was such a fun and relaxing time. We loved it!

Fruit and Veggie Baby

I've discovered since becoming pregnant that a baby can be the size of a whole host of different fruits and veggies on any given week.

There was one week, maybe when I was 9 weeks, and one site said the baby was the size of a grape, another said the size of a cherry and another said that the baby was the size of a blackberry. Russ and I decided that Baby B must have been a very delicious fruit salad that week. :)

Christmas in OKC

We left Los Alamos the Wednesday before Christmas for OKC and we didn't return until January 2nd. It was awesome! We spent 3 days in the middle driving to and from Iowa to see some of Russ' family.

Here are some pictures from the first few days of our trip:

Present wrapping is exhausting for humans and pups.

The super eerie fog we drove into on our way to OKC.

My mom received a new apron.

Becca with Brad's autograph.

Roxy after OD'ing on wrapping paper.

Russ gave Thomas a pooping penguin... it was candy.

Roxy saying: Too much wrapping paper.

Sabrina with her Bear's snuggie.

Puppy snooze time.
I meant to take more pictures but my camera battery was dying... oops. We had a very blessed Christmas holiday full of lots of family!

First Comes Love...

Then comes marriage...

Then comes a baby in a baby carriage!

Baby B is due July 3.
This ultrasound was taken at 12 weeks. We're 14 weeks and 2 days along now. :)
