Olivia's Baptism

Olivia was baptized Labor Day weekend at the church that I've attended my entire life and where Russ and I were married just over two years ago. It was a wonderful service! Our families and friends were right there as witnesses and the service was incredibly personal.

The flowers that were displayed in the church that Sunday were in Olivia's honor from her godparents. :)

Dr. Gorrell, who performed the baptism, has actually known my parents for a very long time. He and his college girlfriend set up my parents on their very first date. He likes to say that without him my sister and I wouldn't be born.

She was very awake after the cold water was sprinkled on her head.

James and Amy have already blessed us immensely as Olivia's godparents.

This is my goddaddy Bob, he performed my wedding ceremony and my parents' wedding ceremony. Now, he is Olivia's grand goddaddy Bob.

Family

More family.

Even more family. (I love family!)

Olivia Michele with her namesake, my godmother Michele. (Please note the two handed finger sucking, lol.)

A baptism is a prime time to wear bloomers that have your name embroidered on them.

This was Olivia's first time to meet Andrew and she was loudly expressing her gratitude to him for videotaping her baptism. Thanks, Drew!

Baby Babbles

Here's a video of Olivia cooing that Russ captured on his phone this weekend.  It's definitely kind of long but that's because she just kept talking. :)

Just Chillin'

Olivia received a gift in the mail yesterday from her Great Aunt Marty and she chose to rock the shades right away.

And then she took a nap with Roxy. :)

Two Month Stats

Olivia had her two month doctor's appointment this last Friday.  The check-up went really well and then we got to the vaccinations, which made her really mad. Poor kid. :(

She's 11 lbs 9 oz (53th percentile) and 24 1/2 inches long (97th percentile). She's still really long but on the slender side. She actually still fits in her newborn clothes with no problem; they're at that moment when they fit just right. I've started to put her in 3 month outfits and they're definitely roomy but they don't swallow her. We have so many cute, summery 3 month outfits that I want her to wear before fall really gets here.

The biggest side effect of the vaccinations that we noticed was that they made Olivia pretty sleepy but I still got some happy swing time out of her afterward.

*Smiles with her fingers in her mouth prove that life wasn't so bad.*

Our Cousin Coco!

Olivia and I met our cousin Coco for the first time this past weekend.

She's beautiful! I mean, seriously, look at those eyes, that hair, that smile!

Coco is, I think, my third cousin and Olivia's fourth cousin, which is why she's so tall and I'm so short.

While we were hanging out, some more of our family arrived and it was so much fun because none of them had met Olivia yet. (This is a terrible picture but it's the only one I got.)

Coco was curious about the other baby. :)

Too bad Olivia slept through this entire experience. She definitely missed out on some awesome cousin-time.

Yay, Friday!

Here are some phone pics - sorry for the poor quality, at least the subject is cute. :)

Just sittin' in her Bumbo like a big girl.

It is imperative that you don't let that sneaky pacifier escape.

Me and my girl.

Would you believe that she had her two month vaccinations only a few hours before this?
